Middle Years Program

Community Service

At VMMS we encourage our students to give back to the community and find how rewarding that can be. With the IBMYP community service is a requirement and currently students are expected to contribute to at least 3 different community service activites. Currently, there is no hourly requirement. Please see the activites below which are already organized on campus. Off campus community service opportunities (i.e.: at church) also fulfill the requirement.

Vistan ROC 10.03.08

Vistans ROC was a great way for our students to give back to the community. Each year members of the community come together to help redevelop a section of Vista for families in need. We spend the day revitalizing the outside of a home, as well as the entire yard. You can check out the city of vista website if you’d like more information.

Shoes of Hope

Vista Magnet Middle School is the best! It was a terrific experience to see all students decorating creative shoes to be sent to orphans in Morocco. A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Eckle for organizing the entire project and Mrs. Franklin for displaying the shoes with student and parent volunteers at Vista's Festival of the Arts.
